Greetings sailors in Thunderbird land,
The Savin Hill, South Boston, and Squantum Yacht Clubs and the Members of Fleet 5 in Boston would like to extend a formal invitation to current active members of the International Thunderbird Class Association to compete in the 2014 Class Championship Regatta.

Fleet 5 in Boston will be hosting the Class Championships for the second time. The prior event in 2005 was a great success with competitors arriving from Toronto, Austrailia, Victoria, Maryland, and California.

The dates are August 10-15, 2014. The racing venue will again be in Quincy Bay which was described by eventual winner Vidas Stukas of Victoria as, "a little gem of a place just south of Boston, MA. For the West Coast sailors, Quincy Bay would be comparable to Port Townsend in size, but with no tide to speak of."

Loaner boats are at a premium, with 2-3 good competitive boats being available. Please contact us ASAP if you want to make a commitment.

As in 2005 we will attempt to billet those sailors who are visiting.  Spare bedrooms are being sought out as well as some nice cruising boats if you would like to explore those options.

The race committee is ready. The judges are onboard.  The social schedule is full.  The last piece of the event is to have some sailors come visit.

Please contact us with all questions and the appropriate fleet representative will help you out.

You can follow us on our fleet website and Facebook page for updates.

Attached is a newsletter that recaps our event from 2005. We are looking forward to hosting another great event.

Yours Truly,

Sean Kane
